Take a look at Central Park Avenue between the Uno's Pizza and Scarsdale Ford (Yonkers city line to Ardsley Road) - particularly the median strips and the northbound shoulder. Here, and in many places around the town, you will notice a direct correlation between mowing/weedwacking neglect by the town and the amount of litter.

Thanks for your interest and effort.

First off, I commend your initiative.

Please don't forget that we pay extrodinarily high taxes in this town for the level of service we recieve.

The Greenburgh Highway Department and the Greenburgh Sanitation department should also play a role. We have our own streetsweeping machines in this town...a program should be set up to make more use of them. We should make sure that we're utilizing our sanitation and highway crews effectively, and that really sore sports get attention frequently.

The Secor Rd./9A intersection is a mess. Lots of litter and weeds. An hour by a 2 man DPW crew could make this look much better.

Another litter spot, as you mentioned in another post, is around bus stops, especially the one at the 4 Corners in the Dairydel parking lot. The county should provide a trash can at the bus stop, but who's responsibilty would it be to pick it up?
